The thrill is gone.

I read Lileks yesterday. He wrote about Fred Steiner, who wrote music for television and movies. Steiner's "Park Avenue Beat" was the music of "Perry Mason." I've been reading some Erle Stanley Gardner books that I got from my parents. When I watched this youtube video of the theme song with stills from the show, I teared up. The music is so distinctive and memorable. The actors are forever associated with their roles.

"Perry Mason" was good stuff. The books are entertaining. But the show had that Park Avenue beat, you know?
