I was using the LDS Family Search website to look for kin possibilities in the 1880 census. You can do a lot of chasing dead ends but it's interesting nevertheless.
This family didn't pan out but I find myself wondering about them anyway. The couple are both 34, with a Midwest background. The little girl is 4. Dad's occupation is laborer. Mother's occupation is keeping tent.
