Over on Facebook, I post the occasional genealogy tidbit, almost always about some kinsman whose connection to my line is very remote. Yesterday I read about the bricking of an architect by a draftsman named John H. Martling. Today I've been FBing about Hitler, since April 30 is the anniversary of his pathetic demise. Here is a news article from the Hermanner Volksblatt (Hermann, Mo.) of August 24, 1888. What a fancy font for such a blunt language!
John Martling threw the brick in fear of his life. He served three months' jail time. In later years he became an architect himself and designed homes and apartment buildings in the Kansas City area.
