Prickly

We streamed "Sidewalks of New York" last night. Right away, it was obvious the characters in the movie had values systems different than mine. Which is not to say I didn't find the film amusing and interesting.

One of the characters was a philandering dentist. He was married to his second wife and having an affair with a college student. It brought to mind a favorite movie, "Cactus Flower." In it, the dentist pretends to be married so his young mistress won't expect a commitment from him.

In the long run, "Sidewalks" makes relationships look impossible to sustain. As a genealogist, I find that depressing.
