The Paseo Bridge, which handled I-29/35 traffic across the Missouri River at Kansas City has been retired in favor of the Christopher S. "Kit" Bond Bridge. We crossed on Bond yesterday for the first time. Can't remember the last time I was on Paseo.
Paseo (on left) was new to me once, when we moved to KC in the mid-1960s. It was a toll bridge then. Stop and throw a dime in the basket. When the bridge bonds were paid off, the tollbooths were removed. It felt like cheating, just driving nonstop.
