Visiting Mary Jane

Grandgirl locked the bathroom door last night and then couldn't get out. We live in an older home. No doorknobs with holes to release the button. I tried to talk her through the process of unlocking the door. "Remember the thing you turned? It's underneath the doorknob. How did you lock the door? Turn that. It's below the doorknob." Eventually, she said, "You mean this?"

I thought of that episode of "Leave It to Beaver," the one where Beaver and Wally babysit, wishing at that moment that our bathroom had a window. After I watched this segment of the show, I was glad Grandgirl had never seen it.
