Border order

A post on immigration by Instapundit generated an interesting response from someone who works in the field.

Maybe the elected officials in this nation need to read the Preamble every night before they go to bed. Maybe it will remind them why there is government here. I don't mean "government." I mean government here, as opposed to government elsewhere.
We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defence, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.
And then these elected federal officials can review the day and see if they did something that wasn't in line with these objectives. And if they did, try to undo it. And then vow to not repeat the error.

This business of griping at We the People is getting pretty damned tiresome. It's creating a distressing atmosphere of  Us on the one hand and The Government on the other.
