I signed up for Twitter but do not use it because I don't have a smartphone. I can use Twitter on the Web but I don't think the experience is the same. With a smartphone, you might feel like you're sending off a telegram. But on a desktop, the sense of urgency or top-of-my-headedness is not there.
Another thing about Twitter is that I didn't connect with it mentally. But maybe in time I'll get the point. I signed up for a Blogger account two years before I started blogging. You have to find your groove.
James Lileks started using Tumblr a week or so ago. I can see where that could become a point of entry. Check back with me in two years. In the meantime, I need to come up with the next R word. Flickr. Tumblr. Jugglr. Groovr. Procrastinatr.
