I was just reading about the seiche phenomenon. Seiche is a French word, meaning to sway back and forth. Seiches are sloshing waves that occur on enclosed bodies of water, lakes and such, and can be deadly. Here's a graphic to make you seasick. Seichesick? Seaseiche?
Then I noticed an Instapundit link to a U.K. story from last week, in which World War II veterans see their service as wasted since their homeland is being sloshed by any number of waves. These waves are man-made, more's the pity.
