Veteran

The uniform still fits.

Thanks, Dad, for putting your plans for the future on hold, leaving college and facing the reality of things as they were in 1941. And thanks to your dad, another artilleryman, for his service in World War I, to his uncles for their service in the Civil War, to their grandfather for his service in the War of 1812 and to their great-grandfather for his service in the Revolutionary War. Part of the Scots-Irish tradition, it would seem.
