How the other half lived

I read James Lileks' Bleat every morning before I go to work. Later I come back to read the comments. The commenters are generally witty and good-natured, so they're almost as much fun as he is. Yesterday he wrote about a TV show (which I have never seen) called "Mad Men." It's about Madison Avenue and advertising and it's set in the 1960s.

Eras fade away instead of dying outright. I was born in 1962. My parents were social in the way extroverts were back then: Jazz cocktail parties, ladies luncheons, dinner parties, winter formals, etc.
