Eye in the sky

Yesterday as we were on the road using our GPS, I wondered aloud if our car could be tailed electronically. Let's say we disappeared and eventually family, neighbors, employers, etc., realized something was wrong. Could our car be found by satellite? I never registered the device. I've never been good about registering products.

A friend emailed a link to an ACLU video which depicts what the future could be when everything we do is tracked. The really unbelievable part of the video is that there would ever be an employee that thorough and motivated taking your order.

On the other hand, in the last week or so an employee at Wal-Mart cautioned a relative (an intelligent and generous soul) against sending a $4,000 money order to someone in Canada who was scamming her. Her son went back there to thank the employee who prevented the transaction. This story isn't about my relative but it could have been.
