Memory

I am not sure what the motivating factor is but we watch a lot of DVDs about World War II and the Holocaust. The LohFathers both served in the Army during the war, so that may have something to do with the interest. We have no personal connection with the Holocaust, however. But there seems to be some sort of urgency about understanding the scope of what happened under the Nazi regime.

The killing of Stephen T. Johns, a guard at the Holocaust Museum in Washington, D.C., shocked me. I learned today that the American Jewish Committee is conducting a fund drive in Mr. Johns' memory, with all donations being given to his family. There are also Johns memorials being collected by the security company he worked for and by the museum.

We contributed a little. Mr. Johns gave all.
