Instapundit linked to Katie Lee Joel's Logan County Burger and Bourbon Slush recipes last week. I have the ingredients for the Bourbon Slush but did not make it yet. We tried the Burgers today and I highly recommend this version.
I made them open-faced (using thinly sliced homemade bread) with one slice of Velveeta, since I didn't have any American cheese. Just delicious! I'm in a phase right now where I prefer burgers fixed on a griddle rather the grill so this method was right up my alley.
