All blow, no show

I recently became reacquainted with a college friend and we've been catching up via Facebook. She posted a comment about wanting to see a new movie and it wasn't at any of the theaters in Maryville. Theaters, plural? She described for me a "dinner theater" in a multiplex. Restaurant, menus, comfortable chairs, then popcorn and drink refills while the movie is running. It's all part of The Hangar and it sounds like a lot of fun, doesn't it?

The only moviehouse in Maryville, Mo., that was operating when I was a student there is in the same business mode as 93 percent of other theaters in the area. CLOSED. Elmo, Mo., once had a movie theater? Who knew? You can start your own Memory Lane stroll here.
