What the world needs now

I was reading a blog post about Jackie DeShannon and someone mentioned she'd been married for 37 years. Her husband is Randy Edelman, whose music I admire. Randy Edelman did the score for Ted Turner's movie, Gettysburg, and I know that work by heart. I listened to it every day for a year on my commute to work.

In the lengthy Jackie DeShannon entry on Wikipedia, there is a People article in the bibliography. The story was written early on in the Edelman-DeShannon marriage. I particularly like the closing quote.
... marriage "has made everything easier for us," Edelman says. "We feel we can depend on each other." Then, pop composer that he is, Randy adds a line that sounds like a fugitive lyric: "It's kind of like a real happy song."
