Sinking ship of state and people keep bailing

It's interesting to see the numbers on domestic migration. I guess California must be too crowded. No one goes there anymore. I was looking at a chart that shows trends for each year from 2006 to 2009. These states have lost population in each of those years:
California, Connecticut, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, Nebraska, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Rhode Island, Vermont and Wisconsin.

Since the turn of this century, Americans were most restless in 2006, with the yen to move tapering off steadily until it reached the low point in 2009.

Another source of statistics on where people are going is Allied Van Lines' annual magnet states report. U-Haul posts some migration trends on its website, as well.
