We watched Honeysuckle Rose last night. I've been on a Willie Nelson kick for the past year or so. I've always enjoyed him but lately I've come to appreciate him. Honeysuckle Rose is a movie he made in 1980. It's about life on the road for a small band. Willie wrote "On the Road Again"' for the movie. That is a most excellent song. You wouldn't know it was from a movie.
I wondered later if the song had been nominated for an Academy Award. No way anything else about the movie would qualify -- although it was entertaining. I was pleasantly surprised to see that "On the Road Again" was one of the nominees. It lost out to "Fame" from the movie of the same name.
