Pernell Roberts, who was famous for quitting the TV show "Bonanza," died yesterday. He was 81 and had cancer. He played the oldest of the Cartwright sons, Adam. And he was my favorite. I was in junior high. You had to have a favorite from "Bonanza." I liked his smile and his black clothes. Plus Adam wasn't a goofball.
