Saw a couple of Jack Benny TV shows from a collection of holiday programs that are in the public domain. He did a sketch about Christmas gift-buying with Mel Blanc where Jack had a difficult time keeping a straight face. That instantly put me in mind of Harvey Korman's struggles with Tim Conway. In the next one Mel was on again and Jack had to work hard to keep control while Mel did sound effects. Was it always like that? That Jack appreciated Mel Blanc so much? I think so.
