Memory bank, October 7

Edgar Allen Poe, 40, died on October 7, 1849, four days after he was admitted to a Baltimore hospital.

Viewing is today at Poe House.

An all-night vigil begins at midnight and runs until 11 a.m. tomorrow at Westminster Hall, 500 West Baltimore Street, Baltimore, Maryland. You may pay tribute if you desire.

The funeral is scheduled
for Sunday, October 11, 2009. The event is sold out. John Astin will speak.
