I read a blog post that Insty linked which led me to a link about the "greatest of all time" cocktail. Which is called The Modern American Bar Pegu. Which is appropriate for America on her birthday, is it not?
I actually have a bottle of cointreau. I got it from a friend who knew it would never get used in her house. I even trucked it all the way to a family reunion in the Rocky Mountains five years ago but forgot about it. It is still unopened. I will buy some gin and be good to go. And toast the U.S.A., the greatest country that was, with the greatest cocktail that might be.
