Diamonds are a traffic pattern's best friend

MoDOT's email newsletter says that Springfield, Mo., is the first place in the USA to have an operational diverging diamond interchange. In fact, there are only four in the world (the other three are in France). Let's all drive down there to see how it works! Better yet, let your computer do the driving.

The Show Me State will eventually have more than France, when two diverging diamonds are built in Kansas City and one in St. Louis county.

We are discussing going to Miami, Oklahoma, in August to hear Leon Rausch with the Texas Playboys. If we take MO 73 and then sidle over to MO 13, we can check this out. Can't wait to hear GPS Jill's take on a diverging diamond that wasn't there before. She's a little more uptight than Leon is.
