I taught in the Adair-Casey (Iowa) school district a long time ago. The sports teams were and still are called Bombers, as in aircraft. Today I saw a group of students from Sherwood-Cass R-VIII (Creighton, Mo.). Their teams are the Marksmen.
I will have to keep my eyes peeled for the West Plains Zizzers. The links to the schools at that last website are pretty well outdated, but the Zizzers are still going strong. So are the Yuma Criminals. The Mitchell (S.D.) Kernels, though, that's pretty corny.
